San Diego, CA – Former local gospel radio host and author, Lady Shaunté Garrett has been selected as one of the year‘s sexiest singles by Ebony magazine! Garrett was awarded the Stellar Award in 2009 for Gospel Announcer Of The Year and is formerly the host of “Mighty Good Day with Lady Shaunté where she also served as the Program Director for the New Soul of San Diego radio station.

Born in Oakland, California, and raised in the San Francisco bay area Shaunté Garrett moved to southern California in 2000 pursuing an acting career but is now one of the premiere radio announcers on the west coast. Garrett is deeply involved in the Christian music scene as a writer, announcer, and producer. She is the writer for the nationally syndicated Donnie McClurkin radio show and most recently released a daily devotional book entitled “Speak To Your Life”.

Lady Shaunté Garrett has a bachelor’s degree in Radio Broadcasting and is a member of the Southern California Gospel Announcer’s Guild. She has been nominated for numerous awards over the span of her career including the Horizon award in 2006 and the Newsome award in 2005. Garrett was selected as Gospel Announcer of the Year by the 619 awards in 2005. In her spare time Garrett, who is a licensed cosmetologist, spends time styling and cutting children’s hair at local group homes. She is also a youth leader at New Creation Church in San Diego.
